Senator Dave McCormick recently appeared on a broadcast program to discuss the ongoing military operation, dubbed ‘Operation Epic Fury,’ and its significant achievements in the Middle East.
He described the operation as a remarkable military success, highlighting the destruction of enemy missiles, drones, and manufacturing capabilities. McCormick emphasized that the operation is largely achieving the President’s stated military objectives, despite still being in progress.
The Senator asserted that Iran made a critical error in judgment by targeting Gulf allies and regional neighbors. He believes this miscalculation signals that the conflict may be nearing its conclusion, offering a degree of reassurance to businesses operating in the area.
McCormick also stressed the vital need for domestic security, advocating for the swift passage of funding for the Department of Homeland Security. He warned that Americans currently face heightened risks, making this funding crucial for protection.
Shifting focus to election integrity, McCormick championed the SAVE Act, a measure requiring proof of citizenship and identification for federal elections. He underscored the importance of ensuring every vote is legitimate, drawing from his own experiences in closely contested races.
He recounted losing a previous election by a mere 900 votes, and winning another by just 15,000 out of 7 million cast. This personal experience, he explained, solidified his belief in the necessity of secure and verifiable elections.
McCormick anticipates potential obstruction to the SAVE Act, noting that opposition forces may employ a filibuster to delay or prevent its passage. He believes safeguarding the integrity of the electoral process is paramount.
