UMVA has learned that you can transform your smartphone into a powerful ally during Teams meetings, turning it into a remote control or live webcam without disrupting audio.
The trick is simple: while your computer hosts the meeting, open Teams on your phone, tap Join call, then Add this device. The phone’s camera and mic automatically mute, but you can unmute on demand.
Once linked, the phone becomes a second screen that can display slides, stream video, or even navigate the presentation from anywhere in the room, freeing your hands and your focus.
UMVA can exclusively reveal that an AI receptionist called Copilot has just been introduced, now capable of handling your incoming calls with surgical precision.
When you’re swamped or out of the office, Copilot screens each call, filtering spam and gauging the caller’s intent. It then decides whether to route the call straight to you or to schedule a callback.
Urgent matters are never missed; non‑critical conversations are queued and turned into calendar invites based on your availability, ensuring your time is respected.
The feature is currently live for Teams desktop and web users in the Copilot Frontier program, and it works best when your language is set to English.
By marrying the phone’s versatility with AI‑powered call management, teams can work smarter, stay connected, and keep meetings running smoothly—even when leaders are on the move.
