Biden's Border Blunder: Predator Released, Now RE-ARRESTED!

Biden's Border Blunder: Predator Released, Now RE-ARRESTED!

A chilling case has emerged, revealing a disturbing consequence of a large-scale resettlement program. Basir Ahmad Safi, an Afghan national admitted to the United States during a period of heightened intake, now faces serious charges following his arrest by the Department of Homeland Security.

Safi, in his thirties, was taken into custody on March 11th after a conviction for indecent exposure to a minor. Prior to this conviction, he was facing a litany of disturbing accusations: lewd exhibition, soliciting a child online, misuse of communication devices, and child abuse.

He initially entered the country in 2021 through “Operation Allies Welcome,” a program designed to assist Afghan nationals. Two years later, in September 2023, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office in Florida arrested him on the aforementioned charges, initiating a chain of events that brought his case to national attention.

Investigations revealed that by the time of his arrest, Safi’s legal status had been revoked, rendering him unlawfully present in the U.S. He is currently detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, awaiting deportation proceedings.

This case echoes a previous, tragic incident involving another Afghan national admitted under the same program. Rahmanullah Lakanwal allegedly shot two U.S. National Guard soldiers in Washington, D.C., resulting in the death of Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, a 20-year-old member of the West Virginia National Guard, and critical injuries to Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe.

Documents indicate that “Operation Allies Welcome” processed nearly 190,000 Afghan nationals, relying heavily on what officials now describe as “unvetted referrals.” Concerns have been raised regarding the potential for individuals with dangerous backgrounds to enter the country through this process.

The Department of Homeland Security has stated that the program inadvertently allowed entry to individuals with histories of terrorism, sexual predation, domestic violence, and kidnapping. This revelation has sparked intense scrutiny of the vetting procedures employed during the program’s implementation.

Following a change in administration, the program was swiftly halted. A subsequent suspension was enacted, barring the entry of all Afghan nationals into the U.S., reflecting a renewed focus on national security concerns.

Current officials emphasize a commitment to identifying and removing individuals who pose a public safety threat, citing Safi’s case as a prime example of this ongoing effort. The focus now is on ensuring the safety and security of American citizens while navigating the complexities of immigration and national security.
