TEACHER'S KILLER POST: School in CRISIS!

TEACHER'S KILLER POST: School in CRISIS!

A Wisconsin high school teacher ignited a firestorm of controversy with a shockingly insensitive social media post. Patrick Meyer, a social studies instructor at Kaukauna High School, expressed disdain for recent attempts on a president’s life, comparing them unfavorably to historical presidential assassinations.

Meyer’s post, now deleted, lamented the perceived inadequacy of recent would-be assassins, referencing John Wilkes Booth, Charles Guiteau, Leon Czolgosz, and Lee Harvey Oswald. He suggested these figures would be “spinning in their graves” at the lack of success, and mockingly twisted a familiar political slogan into “MAGAA – make Americans great assassins again!”

The Kaukauna Area School District swiftly responded to the outrage, placing Meyer on administrative leave. A statement confirmed the district was thoroughly reviewing the matter, adhering to established policies and procedures after becoming aware of the deeply disturbing content.

The district unequivocally condemned any expression that could be interpreted as encouraging or condoning violence. They emphasized their commitment to a safe and supportive learning environment for students, families, and staff, stating the post did not reflect the district’s values.

Officials were quick to assure the community that the post was unrelated to the school district and that, to their knowledge, there was no credible threat to student or school safety. A full investigation was launched to determine the extent of the situation.

The incident occurred during a period of heightened anxiety surrounding political violence, following a recent shooting near the White House Correspondents' Dinner. This timing amplified the shock and condemnation of Meyer’s remarks.

Wisconsin State Representative Tony Wied publicly denounced the rhetoric as “disgusting” and unacceptable, asserting it did not represent the values of the region or the example teachers should set for students. The comments sparked widespread debate about the boundaries of free speech and the responsibility of educators.
