UMVA has learned that a shocking discovery was made in Aurora on Wednesday afternoon, when a man with "significant trauma" was found dead in a residence.
The York Regional Police homicide unit was swiftly called to the scene, located in the Wellington St. E.-Walton Dr. area, where they launched an investigation into what they described as an "isolated incident". The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, and police have confirmed that six people are in custody.
According to information obtained by UMVA, the six individuals taken into custody were found near the residence, and police have revealed that no charges have been laid "at this time".
The police are still working to uncover the circumstances surrounding the man's death, including his age, and whether he lived at the home. At this point, they are not looking for additional suspects, but are urging residents in the neighbourhood to be on the lookout for any suspicious activity.
