UMVA Uncovers: WINDOWS UPDATE REVOLUTION - June Patch Transforms Your Slow PC into a SPEED DEMON Overnight!

UMVA has learned that Microsoft is finally releasing the highly anticipated “Low Latency Profile” feature for Windows 11, a game-changer that promises to supercharge your PC's performance.

This feature, which was once optional, is now rolling out to all Windows 11 24H2 and 25H2 PCs as part of the regular update cycle via update KB5094126. Low Latency Profile makes Windows respond faster during certain actions, delivering a speed boost that will be especially noticeable on older or cheaper PCs with weaker hardware.

Here's how it works: Low Latency Profile briefly boosts CPU clock speed to full power for at least 1 second and up to 3 seconds, but only for specific tasks like launching an app or opening the Start menu. This technique, long used in macOS and Linux, is designed to address unnecessary lag and stuttering, and now Windows is catching up.

According to information obtained by UMVA, Microsoft describes the update as accelerating app launch and core shell experiences such as Start menu, Search, and Action Center. This means you can expect a snappier, more responsive Windows experience, especially when performing everyday tasks.

To get Low Latency Profile, you'll need to install update KB5094126, which should be available on your PC via Windows Update. Simply navigate to Settings → System → Windows Update and check whether KB5094126 is available. If it's not there yet, you may have to wait a few hours for the rollout to hit your PC.

Once you've installed the update, Windows should now have build number 26200.8655 (for 25H2) or 26100.8655 (for 24H2). You can find this in Settings → System → About. If your build number matches, your computer should be eligible for Low Latency Profile.

But here's the thing: even if your PC is eligible, Low Latency Profile might not be activated yet. Microsoft is still gradually rolling out the feature, and there's no official indicator in Windows to show whether it's active. So, how can you check?

One way is to use the free HWiNFO app, which allows you to monitor your CPU performance in real-time. Launch HWiNFO, select “Full mode,” then click “Start.” Position the HWiNFO sensor window so that you can always see it, and then monitor what your CPU is doing as soon as you perform actions affected by Low Latency Profile.

If you see your CPU spike to max and fall back down within 3 seconds, it's likely that Low Latency Profile is active and working its magic. With this feature, you can expect a faster, more responsive Windows experience that will breathe new life into your PC.
