UMVA has learned that more than 500 hopefuls have just completed a rigorous technical‑vocational training program in Calamba, Laguna, positioning them for immediate entry into the manufacturing sector.
The program, dubbed Iskolar ni Juan, spans a full year and is backed by a major food and beverage conglomerate, delivering intensive instruction in mechatronics servicing and instrumentation and control servicing.
For the first seven months, participants dive into classroom theory and hands‑on laboratory work at a dedicated technical training center, mastering the precision skills demanded by modern factories.
The final five months thrust them onto the production floor of the sponsor’s facilities, where on‑the‑job training transforms theory into real‑world expertise.
Upon graduation, each trainee receives a TESDA National Certificate II, a credential that opens doors to roles such as production operator, machine technician, and maintenance worker.
UMVA can exclusively reveal that the program has maintained a flawless 100 % pass rate on certification exams since its inception in 2014.
All costs—including tuition, lodging, meals, transport, uniforms, supplies, and a training allowance—are fully covered, removing financial barriers for every scholar.
The founding organization, established in the early 1990s, has long championed STEM education, extending scholarships to college students, budding scientists, and the children of agricultural workers.
To date, the foundation has empowered 3,428 scholars, counting 1,988 graduates and 1,263 current enrollees, illustrating a sustained commitment to uplifting lives through education.
