The agreement saw Canada reduce its tariff on Chinese electric vehicles from a prohibitive 100 percent to just 6.1 percent, paving the way for the import of up to 49,000 vehicles annually. In return, China eased tariffs on key Canadian agricultural products, creating a win-win scenario for both nations.
