Manchester United urged to pursue £70m-rated World Cup standout following Elliot Anderson deal with Manchester City.

Manchester United urged to pursue £70m-rated World Cup standout following Elliot Anderson deal with Manchester City.

Manchester United's pursuit of new midfielders has hit a snag, with Tottenham reportedly confident in their bid to sign West Ham's Fernandes. If United misses out on their top targets, former defender Rio Ferdinand believes they should focus on signing Real Madrid's Tchouameni.

Tchouameni, a 26-year-old French midfielder, has been a key player for Real Madrid but faces an uncertain future after a reported fallout with teammate Federico Valverde. Real Madrid is said to be considering selling him for £70m to fund new signings.

Ferdinand is convinced that Tchouameni would be the perfect replacement for United's Casemiro. He expressed his enthusiasm for the potential signing on his YouTube channel, stating that Tchouameni would be his top choice to bolster United's midfield.

Ferdinand emphasized the importance of securing Tchouameni's signature, saying that if the French midfielder becomes available, United should be the first team to make a move. He even issued a personal plea to Tchouameni, urging him to consider United as his next destination.

In addition to Tchouameni, United is also interested in Bournemouth's Alex Scott, valued at £60m, and Sandro Tonali, an Italian midfielder who has caught the attention of several top clubs. Former United defender Gary Pallister believes Tonali would be an ideal signing for Michael Carrick's side.

Pallister noted that Tonali is a proven Premier League player, which counts in his favor. However, he also acknowledged that prying Tonali away from Newcastle will be difficult, as Arsenal and Tottenham are also interested in signing him.
