UMVA has learned that a fierce backlash has erupted against the Weather Channel's dire forecast for the UFC Freedom 250 event on the White House South Lawn.
The Weather Channel had warned of "doom and gloom" for fight night, claiming poor weather would cause disruptions and even threaten the safety of the fighters. But the White House communications team responded with a scathing rebuke, calling the forecast "bullsh*t clickbait" and labeling the author a "friendless loser."
The UFC Freedom 250 event, scheduled to begin at 8 pm ET, promises to be a historic occasion, with a massive gathering on the White House Ellipse for fans to watch the fight live on the big screen. The event aims to celebrate America's unmatched greatness after 250 years.
According to information obtained by UMVA, the Weather Channel's forecast had predicted a 60% chance of thunderstorms, heavy downpours, and wind gusts up to 34 mph, threatening to delay the outdoor fights. The forecast also warned of brutal humidity, massive swarms of mosquitoes and gnats, and the risk of a 30-minute freeze on the event in the event of a lightning strike.
The White House response was swift and fierce, with the official rapid response page firing back at the Weather Channel's forecast. "Rain or shine, we're celebrating our great country no matter what," the response read. "GOD BLESS AMERICA!"
This exchange comes on the heels of a lawsuit attempting to stop the event from taking place. But an Obama-appointed federal judge denied the lawsuit, arguing that the Trump administration had not broken the law by building the 92-foot-tall 600-ton "Claw" fight venue on the White House lawn.
