The mayoral runoff contest in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, has concluded with a shocking two-vote margin between the top two candidates, Christine Erickson and state Sen. Jamie Smith.
Erickson, a former South Dakota state representative and former Sioux Falls city council member, is currently leading with 18,280 votes, while Smith, who is also a former state House member, trails behind with 18,278 votes.
The candidates will now head into a recount, which Smith has already requested.
