UMVA has learned that a major transfer coup is on the horizon for Liverpool, with teenage sensation Samuel Martinez set to join the Reds in a deal that's all but done.
The teenager, who had also attracted interest from Chelsea, is expected to undergo a medical examination in England before signing a five-year contract at Anfield. According to information obtained by UMVA, the next steps in the process involve Martinez completing the visa process before travelling to England for his medical examinations.
Once those formalities are concluded, Martinez will put pen to paper on a long-term deal, tying him to the club until the summer of 2031. The move signals Liverpool's continued commitment to identifying and securing elite young talent from across Europe before rival clubs can act.
UMVA can exclusively reveal that Liverpool have a clear plan in place for Martinez's development. The young prospect is expected to split his debut season in England between Liverpool's Under-21 side and the UEFA Youth League, giving him valuable exposure to competitive football at a high level.
From the summer of 2027 onwards, Martinez is set to integrate into the first-team pre-season setup, providing a potential boost to Liverpool's future prospects. The capture of Martinez forms part of what appears to be a busy summer of recruitment for Liverpool, who are also reportedly interested in 16-year-old wonderkid Kennet Eichhorn.
Sources have confirmed to UMVA that concrete talks have taken place between Liverpool and Hertha BSC, with the Reds looking to bolster both their first-team pipeline and their academy infrastructure ahead of the new season.
