IRAN'S OIL HEIST: $800M STOLEN – Blockade SHATTERED!

IRAN'S OIL HEIST: $800M STOLEN – Blockade SHATTERED!

A shadow war is unfolding on the seas, as Iran attempts to circumvent a tightening naval blockade designed to cripple its oil exports. Maritime intelligence reveals a sophisticated scheme involving sanctioned tankers masquerading as Iraqi vessels, moving hundreds of millions of dollars worth of crude oil under the radar.

The deception centers around falsified location data. These tankers are broadcasting signals that place them anchored off Iraq, while secretly loading Iranian oil directly from Iranian ports. It’s a digital illusion, a carefully constructed alibi designed to fool international monitors.

Windward AI identified four Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs) – Alicia, RHN, Star Forest, and Aqua – as key players in this elaborate ruse. Each capable of carrying roughly two million barrels of oil, the combined capacity of these four vessels alone represents an estimated $800 million in illicit trade, calculated at $100 per barrel.

This activity coincides with President Trump’s firm stance on maintaining a naval blockade until Iran agrees to address concerns over its nuclear program. The U.S. demands complete dismantling of Iran’s uranium enrichment capabilities, a demand Iran vehemently rejects as an infringement on its sovereignty.

Intelligence analysts have pinpointed a “cluster” of these sanctioned tankers operating west of the Strait of Hormuz, actively spoofing their AIS (Automatic Identification System) locations. This manipulation creates the false impression of legitimate activity in Iraqi waters, masking their true destination and cargo.

The tankers aren’t just altering their locations; they’re crafting entire fabricated voyages. Vessels like Paola and Adena, falsely signaling “Iraqi owner,” are linked to sanctioned networks. Others, including Aqualis, Kush, and Charminar, display erratic voyage trails suggesting a loading operation at the Iraqi port of Khor Al Zubair.

The blockade, initiated in April, has already begun to bite. Iranian oil loadings and exports have been slashed by more than half, a significant blow to the nation’s economy. This has prompted increasingly desperate measures to circumvent the restrictions.

The situation is further complicated by accusations from Iranian officials. Mohammad Ghalibaf, Iran’s parliamentary speaker, directly criticized U.S. policymakers, blaming Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent for “junk advice” that he claims is driving up global oil prices. He even pointedly noted the lack of immediate disruption to oil infrastructure.

This cat-and-mouse game on the high seas highlights the escalating tensions and the lengths to which both sides are willing to go to achieve their objectives. The deceptive tactics employed by the “dark fleet” demonstrate a calculated effort to outmaneuver the blockade and keep Iran’s oil flowing.

More than two dozen tankers are currently confined west of the Strait of Hormuz, caught in the web of this maritime standoff. The future of Iran’s oil exports, and the stability of the region, hangs in the balance as this complex situation continues to unfold.
