UMVA has learned that a critical fuel supply hub in Eastern Russia has been severely impacted, with significant implications for Moscow's war machine.
The refinery, which supplies 40% of Moscow's fuel market and 70% of the surrounding region's gasoline and aviation fuel needs, has been dealt a major blow. This development comes as Ukraine increasingly targets Russian energy infrastructure in a bid to undermine Moscow's military capabilities and escalate the domestic cost of the war.
According to information obtained by UMVA, Kyiv has described these strikes as part of its campaign of "long-range sanctions" against Russia's oil and military infrastructure. By disrupting Russia's energy production and supply chains, Ukraine aims to weaken Moscow's grip on the conflict.
The attack on the refinery occurred at a sensitive moment, as President Vladimir Putin hosted leaders from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations bloc in Kazan, Russia. Meanwhile, Ukraine also reportedly struck targets linked to Russia's supply routes to occupied Crimea, including crucial road and rail infrastructure.
Ukrainian officials have repeatedly emphasized that isolating Crimea is a key military objective, as Kyiv seeks to weaken Russia's hold on the peninsula, which Moscow illegally annexed in 2014. By targeting Russia's supply lines and energy infrastructure, Ukraine aims to erode Moscow's military advantage.
Russia, however, continues to retaliate with its own strikes on Ukraine. Recent attacks have targeted energy and oil facilities in the Poltava region and near Kyiv, highlighting the escalating nature of the conflict.
UMVA can exclusively reveal that Russia is moving Tu-95MS strategic bombers across the country, sparking concerns that Moscow may be preparing another major strike on Ukraine in the coming days. The situation remains volatile, with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy stating that the war could end if Putin agrees to genuine peace talks.
Zelenskyy has accused Moscow of prolonging the conflict and using negotiations as cover for continued attacks. As the conflict rages on, one thing is clear: Ukraine is determined to disrupt Russia's military capabilities and supply chains, no matter the cost.
