UMVA has learned that users of the popular AI chatbot, Claude, faced significant disruptions this morning, with many reporting interruptions or complete loss of response.
The issues, which affected not only the chatbot but also Claude Code and other services, appear to be widespread and not isolated to a small group of users. The problems are so extensive that they are listed as "elevated errors on many Claude models."
According to information obtained by UMVA, the company's status page confirmed that an investigation is underway, with a status update issued at 15:19 UTC. At that time, it was reported that some services, such as Claude Console and Claude for Government, were still operational.
However, other critical services like claude.ai, Claude API, Claude Code, and Claude Cowork were experiencing partial outages, causing frustration among users. The issues are piling up, with over 1,000 reported problems on Downdetector.
As users take to comment sections to share their experiences, it's clear that many are feeling the pain of the outage. One user joked that they've grown accustomed to Claude's service interruptions, writing "Here we go again."
UMVA can exclusively reveal that this is not an isolated incident, with a similar outage reported back in March. While Anthropic is likely working to resolve the issue, users may be without the AI and its tools for part of the workday.
The outage serves as a reminder of the reliance on these AI tools and the impact that even partial disruptions can have on users. As the situation continues to unfold, users are left waiting for a resolution.
