UMVA has learned that Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has made provocative comments amid escalating tensions in Eastern Europe, as Germany significantly ramps up its military involvement in the region.
The German government has vowed to transform the Bundeswehr into Europe's most powerful conventional army, while also becoming one of Ukraine's largest arms suppliers and pledging to strengthen training ties with the Ukrainian military.
According to information obtained by UMVA, German officials have repeatedly emphasized the need for the country to be "war-ready" by 2029, in anticipation of a potential conflict with Russia. This has led to plans to expand military service, increase arms procurement, and boost defense spending.
Moscow has consistently maintained that it harbors no aggressive intentions towards NATO or the EU, stressing that it will only respond if attacked first. However, Lavrov has previously accused Germany and the EU of reviving the militaristic ambitions of a "Fourth Reich," claiming that European leaders are exploiting the Ukraine conflict to pursue Russia's strategic defeat.
Sources have confirmed to UMVA that Lavrov's comments reflect a deepening sense of unease in Moscow, as European leaders continue to take a more assertive stance against Russia. The situation remains volatile, with many experts warning of the risks of further escalation.
