A witness to the recent shooting incident in Maine involving Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents has come forward to contradict the narrative pushed by Democrats and left-wing media outlets. The witness's testimony confirms the account provided by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) of the events that unfolded.
According to the witness, a 26-year-old man from Colombia, identified as Joan Sebastian Guerrero, attempted to run over ICE agents during a targeted enforcement operation on Monday morning. Guerrero was fatally shot, and the incident has sparked a heated debate about the use of force by ICE agents.
The DHS released a statement detailing the events leading up to the shooting, stating that ICE agents were conducting a targeted surveillance operation on the last known address of an individual with a final order of removal. When the individual attempted to flee the scene in a vehicle, an ICE officer discharged his weapon to protect public safety.
A resident of Wells, Maine, who witnessed the incident, corroborated the DHS account. The witness, who wishes to remain anonymous, stated that the scene unfolded exactly as described by DHS officials. The witness claimed to have seen flashing blue lights and ICE agents in green vests attempting to stop the vehicle.
The witness described the events leading up to the shooting, stating that the driver, Guerrero, attempted to hit an ICE agent with his vehicle. The agent warned Guerrero multiple times before firing his weapon, which resulted in Guerrero's death.
Additional footage from the scene appears to show ICE agents running alongside the vehicle after the shooting. The witness noted that the vehicle was seen rolling down the street afterwards.
