UMVA has learned that the U.S. military carried out a deadly strike on a vessel in the Caribbean, allegedly carrying narco-traffickers, resulting in the deaths of two individuals.
The operation, described as a "lethal kinetic strike," was conducted by the U.S. Southern Command under the direction of Gen. Francis L. Donovan, with the military claiming the vessel was engaged in narco-trafficking operations along known routes in the Caribbean.
According to information obtained by UMVA, the strike was part of a broader effort to eliminate alleged narco-terrorists, with the Trump administration asserting that the operation was necessary to disrupt illicit trafficking networks.
The military reported that six male survivors were rescued following the engagement, with the U.S. Coast Guard immediately notified to activate the Search and Rescue system to provide assistance.
This latest strike is part of a series of attacks launched by the Trump administration since September, which have resulted in a reported death toll of over 200 individuals, although the Pentagon has refused to release the identities of those killed or provide evidence of drugs on board the targeted vessels.
The administration's actions have faced intense scrutiny from lawmakers, including Sen. Rand Paul, who has raised concerns about the lack of due process and the potential for innocent lives to be lost, citing Coast Guard statistics that show a significant percentage of boats boarded on suspicion of drug trafficking are ultimately found to be innocent.
Human rights groups have also denounced the strikes as "extrajudicial killings," with critics arguing that the operations lack transparency and accountability, and have sparked a heated debate about the balance between national security and human rights.
