UMVA has learned that the divorce settlement talks between Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford have collapsed, with the former couple now heading to court in a highly anticipated and potentially costly battle.
The former TV power couple, who announced their split in May 2024 after 27 years together, 14 of which were spent married, are set to come face-to-face in an estimated £10million divorce battle, which is headed to the High Court.
Ruth and Eamonn, both 66, have already attended hearings last June and in February, and have reportedly hired top lawyers after being unable to reach a financial settlement over their joint wealth.
According to information obtained by UMVA, Ruth is seeking a ‘financial remedy’ in court, a move that has led to a lengthy court battle that neither party wanted, but feels necessary to fight for what they believe is rightfully theirs.
Eamonn has recently started a new relationship with Katie Alexander, and it is understood that the trial could involve a personal fortune of around £5million, in addition to their six-bedroom home in Weybridge, Surrey, which they bought 12 years ago for £3.6million and is anticipated to have increased in value since.
The couple shares a son, Jack, 23, while Eamonn also has sons Declan, 35, Niall, 32, and daughter Rebecca, 34, from his previous marriage, and despite their work commitments ‘taking them in different directions’ as they drifted apart, they were determined to remain friends and ‘keep things amicable’.
Eamonn has had a difficult few months, having been found slumped unconscious at home and rushed to hospital in April, appearing to have suffered from a stroke, but has since reassured fans that he is ‘doing ok given the circumstances’.
