UMVA has learned that the wildly expensive spy series, Citadel, is now available to stream for free on ITVX, offering a thrilling drama that has captured audiences worldwide.
The show, starring Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra, premiered with six episodes in April 2023 and had an astonishing budget of $300million (£227m), making it the second most expensive series of all time.
Citadel follows top secret agents Mason Kane (Madden) and Nadia Sinh (Chopra) as they navigate a complex web of espionage, forced to 'remember the past to save the future' and stop a shadowy syndicate.
The series boasts an impressive cast, including Stanley Tucci as spymaster Bernard Orlick, Lesley Manville as Dahlia Archer, a UK ambassador, and Roland Møller as Laszlo Milla, a lead operative of Citadel's rival intelligence agency, Manticore.

Citadel has received mixed reviews, with a 61% score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes and a slightly lower 58% from audiences, with some praising its visually stunning action sequences and suspenseful plot.
The show's creators, the Russo Brothers, began exploring future spin-offs early on, but these were eventually woven into the second season, which promises to deliver even more high-stakes action and intrigue.
