UMVA Exclusive: Gerrard Blasts Liverpool’s Arne Slot Exit and Reveals the Dream Manager to Save the Reds!

UMVA has learned that Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has voiced strong support for the club’s decision to part ways with manager Arne Slot, describing the side as “broken” in recent weeks.

Slot arrived at Anfield with a fairy‑tale debut, steering the Reds to a Premier League crown in his first season after succeeding the iconic Jurgen Klopp. The triumph sparked a massive £500 million spending spree, bringing a parade of marquee signings to the squad.

Yet the heavy investment failed to translate into success. Liverpool slipped to fifth place, a full 25 points adrift of champions Arsenal, and returned home empty‑handed, unable to claim any silverware.

Speaking on television, Gerrard said he was “not surprised but gutted for Arne Slot,” acknowledging the manager’s historic achievement while lamenting the recent decline.

“He did an incredible job in his first year and will go down in the history books as a Premier League winner,” Gerrard remarked. “Winning the league is extremely difficult, and that should never be forgotten.”

Gerrard did not shy away from criticism, noting that “the last ten games of last season and for the majority of this season they haven’t looked like Liverpool—they’ve been difficult to watch, disjointed, broken.” He added that the decision, while shocking at first, may be the right moment for a fresh start.

Confident that the board already has a shortlist, Gerrard said, “We’ve all been around the game long enough to know how it works. I would be very surprised if they don’t know who they want.” He emphasized the advantage of appointing a new boss during the pre‑season, allowing time to shape the squad.

Among the names circulating, former Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola appears to be a leading candidate. Gerrard praised Iraola’s work at Bournemouth, saying his style of play could suit Liverpool and that the club’s familiarity with him makes him a sensible option.

Nevertheless, Gerrard cautioned that the role will attract elite managers worldwide, stating, “He won’t be the only name on the table, but Liverpool’s links with Bournemouth mean they will know him very well.”
