A chilling case has unfolded in Toronto, revealing allegations of systematic exploitation and control. A man stands accused of trafficking a woman through online advertisements, preying on vulnerability for personal gain.
Police allege the accused created online profiles featuring sexualized images and promoting illicit services offered by the woman. This wasn’t simply advertising; it was the first step in a calculated scheme of manipulation and control.
The exploitation allegedly extended to the use of cocaine, offered as part of an ongoing pattern of abuse. Investigators claim the man transported the woman to meet clients, further isolating her and tightening his grip.
Any earnings the woman made were allegedly seized by the accused, with the vast majority kept for himself. This financial control served to further entrap her, stripping away any semblance of independence.
The investigation began late this month when the victim was located by the Toronto Police Service Human Trafficking Enforcement Team. This marked the beginning of a complex investigation aimed at dismantling the alleged network of abuse.
Isaiah Cassim, 27, now faces a litany of charges, including trafficking in persons, procuring control, advertising sexual services, and multiple offenses related to drug trafficking, threats, and assault. The charges paint a disturbing picture of alleged predatory behavior.
Authorities are urging anyone with information, or anyone who believes they may have been a victim, to come forward. The investigation is ongoing, and police are determined to identify and support any additional individuals who may have been harmed.
Separately, Toronto police are searching for a man accused of a series of escalating assaults and threats against another individual. The incidents began with a heated argument that quickly turned violent.
On March 25th, the suspect allegedly physically assaulted the victim by choking them, a terrifying act of control and intimidation. The following day, the violence continued with further physical assault, including being struck and thrown to the ground.
The alleged abuse didn’t end there. On Sunday, while in communication with the victim, the suspect is accused of making further threats, continuing a pattern of fear and harassment.
Mario Norbert Fajko, 28, is currently wanted on multiple charges, including two counts of uttering threats, assault, and assault with choking. He is described as 5-foot-3 with a medium build, dark hair, and facial hair.
Police are appealing to the public for assistance in locating Fajko. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is urged to contact authorities immediately, as the safety of the alleged victim remains a paramount concern.
