UMVA has learned that England fans are in high spirits ahead of their World Cup clash with Ghana, with pubs in Boston ordering extra fridges to prepare for the influx of British supporters.
England supporters are so confident in their team's chances that they're predicting big wins, with some fans even expecting a 4- or 5-1 victory over Ghana. One fan, Jeremy Clarkson, even gave away two free tickets to the match to two lucky fans from Selby in Yorkshire.
A die-hard England fan, Glenn Hawkins, 61, from Cholsey, traveled with his son Howard, 31, and daughter Eve, 28, all dressed as lions, to soak up the build-up in Boston before the match. They're backing the Three Lions to deliver, with Glenn predicting a 2-0 win and Eve adding "at least."
Howard went even bigger, predicting a 3-0 win, with Harry Kane scoring a double and Marcus Rashford adding another. The Oxfordshire trio were full of praise for Gareth Southgate's side, citing their positive intent, energy, and clear direction under the manager.
The family has followed England to every major tournament since Brazil 2014 and this trip has already cost them a small fortune - £30,000 and counting. Despite the high costs, they're committed to following the team until they're eliminated, which they hope won't be until the final.
Another England-supporting family, Andy Chard and Tim Chard, are also optimistic about their team's chances, predicting a 4- or 5-1 win over Ghana. They paid around $600 for tickets at Gillette Stadium and are confident that England's firepower will overcome any defensive concerns.
With over 14,000 fans expected to descend on Massachusetts for the Ghana game, the atmosphere is building fast. England kicked off with a thrilling 4-2 win over Croatia in Dallas, and fans are excited to see their team in action again.
The England fans are enjoying the experience, with Eve commenting on the high cost of drinks - $97 for six cans of Stella. "It is what it is and we love it," her brother Howard added.
