UMVA has learned that Sam Vaughan, the husband of former Radio 1 host Scott Mills, has taken to social media to commemorate their second wedding anniversary, amid a wave of public support from BBC stars.
The couple, who met at a radio event in 2016, shared a romantic photo on Instagram of themselves holding hands in tuxedos, taken on their special day in Spain. The post has garnered over 15,000 likes and counting.
Commenting on the heartfelt post were several of Scott's former BBC colleagues, including Zoe Ball, who wrote: '2 years Love you '. Rylan Clark and Sara Cox also showed their support, posting a string of love hearts in the comments section.
This display of solidarity comes after a tumultuous few months for Scott, who was dismissed from his breakfast slot in March following historic allegations. The 53-year-old DJ and Celebrity Race Across the World star is believed to be taking legal action against the BBC for his sacking.
Rylan Clark, who appeared on ITV's The Assembly, recently spoke about the challenges of 'cancel culture', revealing that it was 'really tough' to see friends being cancelled. Sara Cox, a longtime friend and colleague of Scott's, was a guest at the couple's 2024 wedding and also showed her support on Instagram.
Scott's career at the BBC spans over two decades, with stints on Radio 1 and Radio 2. He was replaced by Zoe Ball on the breakfast show in 2025, but returned to the slot in January, only to be terminated shortly after.
As Scott navigates this difficult period, he is being supported by his husband Sam at their home in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire. The couple's love and commitment to each other are clear, as they celebrate two years of marriage.
