A 36‑year‑old man from Mississauga has been charged with more than a dozen mischief offenses following a series of unprovoked assaults and property‑damage incidents.
The incidents, which occurred throughout November 2024 at various times of day, involved victims being assaulted without prior interaction and rocks being thrown at vehicles and other property, causing significant damage.
Police identified the suspect as Kuo Yang Du, who was taken into custody on an unrelated matter on June 20 and subsequently charged with assault, assault with a weapon and 15 counts of mischief exceeding $5,000 each.
Investigators indicated that additional victims or witnesses may exist and asked anyone with information to contact the police investigation unit.
In a separate case, an 18‑year‑old man has been arrested after allegedly spraying a bystander with a noxious substance during a late‑night brawl in the Leslieville neighbourhood of Toronto.
The confrontation on May 31 also left a second victim with serious, non‑life‑threatening injuries after being slashed with an edged weapon.
The suspect, identified as Liam Jackman of Lindsay, faces charges including carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a dangerous weapon, assault with a weapon, aggravated assault, assault and three counts of administering a noxious thing.
Police have stated that no other suspects remain at large and have urged anyone with further details to come forward.
Separately, a fire in a North York apartment resulted in one fatality, occurring only hours after a deadly crash in Brampton.
Authorities also announced the arrest of a fugitive wanted for the murder of a Port Credit couple, apprehended in Etobicoke after a regional manhunt.
