Coventry City completed the largest transfer of the summer by signing the attacking midfielder Loum Tchaouna for £20 million.
The move follows the club’s promotion to the Championship last season, after which the focus shifted to consolidating the squad rather than a wholesale overhaul.
Frank Lampard, who recently secured a new contract, agreed to bring Tchaouna from Burnley. The winger had joined the Clarets a year earlier for £12 million but was released after the club’s relegation.
Tchaouna is expected to add pace and creativity to Coventry’s forward line, qualities that were difficult to showcase during the club’s struggling Premier League campaign.
Another player linked with the club is Swiss defender Aurele Amenda, whose move from Frankfurt could be finalized now that Switzerland’s World Cup campaign has ended.
In other transfer news, Argentine midfielder Enzo Fernández has attracted attention from several clubs after strong performances with his national team.
Greek winger Christos Tzolis has also drawn interest, with Arsenal reportedly leading the race to secure his signature.
