A quiet Alabama home became a scene of unimaginable horror in the early hours of the morning. Authorities discovered three family members brutally murdered, their lives stolen in a senseless act of violence that has shaken the community to its core.
Deputies arrived at the Wilmer residence just after 2:30 a.m., confronting a scene Sheriff Paul Burch described as “brutal.” Lisa Gail Fields, 46, her 17-year-old daughter Keziah Luker, and 12-year-old son Thomas Cordelle Jr. were found in separate rooms, each bound and subjected to horrific violence.
Lisa Fields had been stabbed, her life extinguished by a blade. Keziah Luker, seven or eight months pregnant, was shot, taking with her the life of the child she carried. Young Thomas Cordelle Jr. suffered an unspeakable fate – his throat cut, nearly severed from his body.
The meticulous nature of the attack suggests a chilling premeditation. The victims were deliberately restrained with zip ties or flex cuffs, indicating the perpetrators arrived with a plan and a grim purpose.
Amidst the devastation, a small beacon of hope emerged. Keziah’s 18-month-old child was found unharmed within the house, spared from the violence that claimed the lives of his mother and grandmother.
Investigators believe more than one person was involved, given the coordinated manner in which the victims were subdued. The home was left in disarray, hinting that the attackers may have been searching for something specific, their motives still shrouded in mystery.
The discovery was triggered by Keziah’s partner, who works offshore. He became alarmed when he couldn’t reach her, despite her phone showing as active on a location-sharing app. A family member then went to the house and made the horrifying discovery.
The grief is immeasurable. Keziah’s father, speaking to local news, described his daughter as a “bubble of sunshine,” a young woman full of empathy and joy, who had recently earned her GED and was looking forward to the future.
Authorities are pursuing “positive leads” in the case, determined to bring those responsible for this horrific crime to justice. The District Attorney’s office will consider whether the loss of Keziah’s unborn child warrants an additional charge once a suspect is apprehended.
Sheriff Burch expressed his outrage, stating that there is no justification for such brutality, especially the senseless murder of two children. He vowed to relentlessly pursue the perpetrators, hoping to swiftly remove them from the streets.
