Manchester United's search for a new midfielder continues, as they consider a move for Bournemouth's Scott.
The 22-year-old midfielder impressed last season, missing only one league game as Bournemouth secured a sixth-place finish and qualification for Europe.
Scott was also in contention for a spot in England's World Cup squad, but ultimately missed out and instead joined the team's preparation camp in the United States.
The interest in Scott's services has only grown since then, with several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester City, said to be admirers of the young midfielder.
Bournemouth are reportedly holding out for an £80m asking price for Scott, who has two years remaining on his current deal, and are keen to discuss terms on a new deal that could include a release clause.
United have been linked with several other midfielders, including Aurelien Tchouameni, Carlos Baleba, and Sandro Tonali, but Rio Ferdinand believes they should prioritize a move for the Real Madrid star.
Ferdinand argues that United should hold back on spending big money on other players, and instead save for Tchouameni, who faces an uncertain future in Spain after a high-profile fight with Federico Valverde last season.
If Tchouameni becomes available, Ferdinand believes that United cannot afford to miss out on the opportunity to sign him.
With several clubs vying for Scott's signature, United will have to act quickly if they want to secure his services, and it remains to be seen whether they will be able to meet Bournemouth's asking price.
