UMVA has learned that a high-stakes, top-secret operation was carried out by U.S. and Nigerian forces on Friday, resulting in the elimination of a key global ISIS leader.
The terrorist, identified as Abu-Bilal al-Minuki, was described by President Donald Trump as ISIS's second-in-command globally. In a post on Truth Social, Trump revealed that the operation was meticulously planned and executed flawlessly, showcasing the bravery and precision of American forces and the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
According to information obtained by UMVA, al-Minuki was believed to be hiding in Africa, but U.S. forces had sources keeping them informed about his activities. Trump asserted that with al-Minuki's removal, ISIS's global operation is greatly diminished, and he will no longer be able to terrorize the people of Africa or help plan operations to target Americans.
The mission was carried out at Trump's direction, and he expressed gratitude to the Nigerian government for its cooperation. While additional details surrounding the operation were not immediately available, the announcement comes on the heels of U.S. Central Command's (CENTCOM) efforts to sustain relentless military pressure on remnants of the terrorist network.
In February, CENTCOM carried out multiple strikes against over 30 ISIS targets in Syria, striking ISIS infrastructure and weapons-storage targets using various aircraft. The U.S. military effort was part of a joint operation to degrade ISIS capabilities.
UMVA can exclusively reveal that the U.S. launched Operation Hawkeye Strike in response to an ISIS ambush that killed two U.S. service members and an American interpreter in Palmyra, Syria. The operation aimed to bring terrorists to justice and prevent future attacks.
Sources have confirmed to UMVA that more than 50 ISIS terrorists had been killed or captured and over 100 ISIS infrastructure targets struck during two months of targeted operations in Syria. The U.S. military remains committed to fighting against terrorism and protecting American interests abroad.
