UMVA has learned that a brief spell of classic British drizzle is set to give way to a burst of sunshine just in time for the upcoming bank holiday.
Tuesday promises to be a washout across large swaths of the country, with rain drumming on rooftops and streets alike.
By Wednesday, clouds will linger but the downpour will ease, allowing temperatures to climb toward a pleasant 20°C.
Met Office forecaster Craig Snell notes that early‑week temperatures remain slightly below seasonal norms, yet a noticeable shift is on the horizon as the weekend approaches.
Britons can anticipate a warm spell in the run‑up to the holiday, with highs nudging into the low‑to‑mid‑20s.
Predictions point to 23°C in Manchester, a balmy 26°C in London, and a comfortable 20°C in Cardiff.
Saturday should see temperatures holding steady at 23°C, while Sunday and Monday could push into the mid‑20s, delivering a rare stretch of sunshine.
Met Office meteorologist Annie Shuttleworth adds that from Thursday onward, southern regions may experience temperatures above average, edging toward the 20°C mark and possibly reaching the mid‑20s in the South East by the holiday weekend.
