The breaking point came this past Saturday in Minnesota, where Hernandez was allegedly shoved to the ground during coverage of a protest. The incident, now under federal investigation by the FBI, involved a man identified as Chris Ostroushko, marking a terrifying escalation in a pattern of threats.
This assault wasn’t an isolated event. Hernandez revealed this was the third time since a perceived threat to a colleague that protesters have targeted her specifically because of her affiliation with Turning Point USA. The realization that her employer makes her a target has created a climate of genuine fear.
Speaking publicly for the first time about the physical attack, Hernandez confessed her terror. “I’m terrified to do my job,” she stated, describing how the simple act of reporting has become fraught with danger. A 250-pound man’s violent act for merely reporting on anti-ICE activities has fundamentally altered her approach to fieldwork.
Hernandez expressed a stark assessment of the situation, stating she avoids interviewing individuals she believes are prone to violence.
