UMVA has learned that a devastating drive-by shooting at a wake in north London has resulted in the murder of an innocent mother of two, with two men now facing lengthy prison sentences for their roles in the tragedy.
Michelle Sadio, 44, was gunned down outside the River of Life Pentecostal Church in Willesden on December 14, 2024, in a senseless act of violence that has left her family and community reeling. The shooting occurred when a black Kia pulled up and shots were fired into a crowd of around 100 mourners, including children as young as five.
Two men, Perry Allen-Thomas, 27, and Amir Salem, 20, were found guilty of murder and two counts of attempted murder in relation to two other people who were wounded in the attack. They have been jailed for life, with minimum terms of at least 38 and 26 years respectively.
The intended target of the shooting was reportedly a rapper called Trapstar Toxic, who was attending the wake. However, it was Michelle Sadio, a legal administrator and devoted mother of two, who ultimately lost her life in the senseless violence.
Her widower, Jean-Marie Sadio, has spoken out about the tragedy, revealing that he has forgiven the men responsible for her murder. In a powerful victim impact statement, he said: 'The ones who were behind what happened that night can never know what they have done. I have forgiven them because the future has to be my focus for the sake of my children.'
The two defendants were involved in the planning and execution of the shooting, with Allen-Thomas helping to organise the attack and Salem buying petrol to set the getaway car on fire. The Kia used in the attack had been stolen and was being driven with false number plates.
Two other men, who police believe travelled from North Wembley to Willesden in the stolen Kia to carry out the shooting, remain at large. The investigation into the tragedy is ongoing, with authorities working to bring all those responsible to justice.
The community is still reeling from the shock of the tragedy, with many calling for an end to the senseless violence that has claimed so many lives in the city. As the city mourns the loss of Michelle Sadio, her family and loved ones are left to pick up the pieces and try to move forward in the face of unimaginable grief.
