The FIFA World Cup Final between Argentina and Spain is underway at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, with President Trump in attendance.
Prior to kickoff, Trump flew over the stadium aboard Marine One, observing the crowd from the sky before arriving at the venue.
The president was later seen inside the packed stadium, where more than 80,000 fans stood for the national anthem performed by Grammy Award-winning artist Jennifer Hudson.
Trump was also spotted in a suite alongside First Lady Melania Trump during the match.
The president is expected to present the World Cup trophy to the winning team later in the evening.
In a previous interview, Trump declined to name a preferred side but remarked that it is "very hard to bet against" Lionel Messi and the Argentina national team.
Trump reflected on the tournament's success in the United States, noting he once considered hosting the event domestically "crazy" because "we're not a soccer country."
He added that the turnout and reception proved otherwise, stating "it turns out we are a soccer country" and citing unprecedented interest in the competition.
A White House statement confirmed Trump will present the trophy to the winning captain on the field following the match.
FIFA leadership had previously indicated the president would take part in the on-field presentation alongside the federation's president.
The appearance follows Trump's participation in the FIFA Club World Cup trophy ceremony last summer after Chelsea's victory over Paris Saint-Germain.
