UMVA has learned that a suspect in the infamous 'Putney Pusher' case, which shocked London in 2017, has been re-arrested after police discovered drugs at his home.
The 44-year-old man, described as a banker and former British Army officer, was initially arrested at his west London home on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm and released on bail. However, the Metropolitan Police revealed that he was detained again after Class A and Class B drugs were found.
The suspect, who reportedly has ties to several European royal families and works as a director at a private bank, is believed to be the individual responsible for pushing a 33-year-old woman in front of a bus on Putney Bridge in May 2017. The woman miraculously escaped serious injury thanks to the quick thinking of the bus driver, Oliver Salbris, who swerved to avoid hitting her.
The 'Putney Pusher' case sparked a years-long manhunt, with police questioning 50 suspects and making two arrests. Despite a widespread plea for leads, the case went cold, and police were forced to close it. However, the latest development has breathed new life into the investigation, with enquiries continuing and the suspect bailed pending further investigation.
The bus driver, Oliver Salbris, was hailed as a hero for his role in saving the woman's life. In an interview, he recounted the harrowing experience, saying, 'If I hadn't swerved, I would have smashed her head. It was reflex. The consequences would have been terrible for her – and for me.'
