Former Vice President Kamala Harris faced ridicule over the weekend after delivering a motivational speech to the WNBA's Los Angeles Sparks, with critics labeling her appearance as another "word salad."
Harris told the Sparks that they were making an "incredible impact" on the country, but her circuitous delivery and sudden appearance after being the Democrats' presidential nominee drew criticism.
"I travel our country. Young girls, boys, people of every gender background, race, watch the ‘W’, and understand how inspiring it is," Harris said, attempting to emphasize the importance of the WNBA's message.
However, critics were quick to respond, arguing that Harris' comments made "zero sense." Outkick founder Clay Travis was among those who expressed frustration, pointing out that the WNBA has never had a team visit the White House during Trump's presidency.
Former University of Kentucky swimmer Riley Gaines also chimed in, drawing a comparison between Harris' recent appearance and a similar instance in February when FBI Director Kash Patel addressed the U.S. Olympic Men's Hockey Team after their upset win over Canada.
Gaines noted that Patel was ridiculed by Harris' ideological flank for the appearance, but Harris has not faced similar backlash for her own actions.
Critics have long accused Harris of serving up "delusional word salad nonsense" in her speeches and public remarks, and this latest appearance has only added fuel to the fire.
