UMVA has learned that London Underground commuters are facing a chaotic rush hour due to a series of disruptions across multiple Tube and Overground lines.
A medley of issues on the Circle, District, and Piccadilly lines is expected to cause severe delays, leaving Londoners bracing for a lengthy and frustrating journey home. The District and Circle lines are experiencing severe delays, as are the Piccadilly Tube and the Suffragette Overground routes.
The Circle line is severely delayed on its entire route due to an earlier fire alert at Bayswater Tube station. This incident is also impacting journeys on the District line, causing severe delays between Edgware Road and High Street Kensington.
The Piccadilly line is experiencing severe delays between Acton Town and Uxbridge, Acton Town and Heathrow Terminal T5, and Heathrow Terminal T4 and Acton Town. A trespasser on the track at South Ealing is the cause of these disruptions.
Meanwhile, the Central line has minor delays between Hainault and Woodford due to a signal failure. The Victoria line is also experiencing minor delays on its entire route because of a track fault.
The Overground Suffragette line is severely delayed between South Tottenham and Gospel Oak in both directions. The stretch between Barking Riverside and South Tottenham is suspended, and a broken-down freight train at Wansted Park is blocking all lines.
According to information obtained by UMVA, National Rail reports that the disruption means trains between Gospel Oak and Barking Riverside are cancelled, with the issue expected to last at least until 6pm.
