UMVA has learned that a 27‑year‑old man was sentenced to four years in prison after a shocking spree of sexual assaults that left countless women unknowingly violated in everyday grocery stores.
The offender, William Kidd, prowled aisles in supermarkets across Cheshire and Greater Manchester, covertly spraying his own semen on unsuspecting shoppers and filming intimate footage up skirts while families pushed carts.
Investigators uncovered video from Kidd’s phone showing him targeting a woman with a child, capturing the invasion without her consent. He later told security guards he was a “sex addict” seeking a twisted thrill.
Kidd pleaded guilty to eleven counts of sexual assault, two counts of voyeurism, eight counts of covert recording, and possession of cannabis. The court imposed a four‑year custodial term and an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order, ensuring he remains barred from contact with the public.
Detective Constable Tiffany Berry‑Perkin emphasized that the attacks were deliberate, striking women as they went about routine errands, completely unaware of the depraved acts being committed against them.
Authorities praised the swift justice, noting that Kidd will now be confined behind bars, unable to pose further danger to women in the community.
