BLUE STAR'S SHOCKING SECRET: 48 & LIVING WITH MOM – You Won't Believe WHY!

BLUE STAR'S SHOCKING SECRET: 48 & LIVING WITH MOM – You Won't Believe WHY!

Duncan James, a familiar face from the pop group Blue, is waging a surprisingly personal war: the fight against warm beer. But his mission faces a unique challenge – his own mother’s fondness for raiding his fridge while he’s on tour.

He recounts a recent return home to discover his carefully curated beer supply completely depleted. “I went to the fridge, and my mum just casually said, ‘Oh, I’ve drunk them all!’” Duncan laughs, recalling her admission of a lively gathering with friends. She even messaged him during his tour, declaring the beer “delicious” and utterly irresistible.

This isn’t just a playful family dynamic for Duncan; it’s a matter of principle. He believes a perfectly chilled beer is a small but vital pleasure, and he’s partnering with a brand to ensure everyone experiences it. The collaboration centers around a playful initiative designed to signal peak coldness.

The problem, it seems, is widespread. Research reveals that a mere 16% of people properly chill their beer before guests arrive, with over half accidentally freezing it. Recognizing this, a clever packaging feature was developed – the iconic mountain graphic on the cans changes color, turning blue when the beer reaches the ideal temperature.

Duncan, having traveled the world and sampled countless brews, insists nothing compares to a truly cold beer on a warm day. He appreciates the simplicity and refreshment, even if it means occasionally sacrificing a few to his mother’s good taste.

His current living situation is a testament to family bonds. After moving in with his mother, Fiona, during the pandemic, the pair found themselves enjoying each other’s company so much that they purchased a shared townhouse in Surrey. He has his own floor, she has hers, creating a comfortable and supportive home life.

The move from London has brought a welcome change of pace. Duncan hosted a barbecue for his new neighbors shortly after moving in, introducing them to his mother and bandmate Anthony Costa, and sharing cold beers in his spacious garden.

Recently, Duncan launched a unique interactive campaign. Fans can now message a simple word to the brand on social media and receive a personalized video – the “Cold Coorus” – delivered the moment their beer reaches the perfect chill, signaled by the mountains turning blue.

But beyond the lighthearted campaign, Duncan’s thoughts often turn to those he’s lost. When asked who he’d share a beer with, he immediately thought of his dear friend, Tara Palmer-Tomkinson, who passed away years ago.

He remembers meeting Tara on a television set in 2001, immediately captivated by her vibrant energy and mischievous humor. She famously slipped him her phone number written in eyeliner on a small piece of paper, a gesture he’s never forgotten.

“She had this wonderful energy and a naughty, impish sense of humour that I really related to,” Duncan reflects, his voice tinged with sadness. “I just miss her so much and wish I could sit down and have a beer with her.” The memory serves as a poignant reminder of the joy and connection that a simple shared moment – and a cold beer – can bring.
