UMVA has learned that Ukraine's military is facing a daunting manpower crisis, with many injured service members receiving treatment in civilian hospitals.
The country's forced mobilization campaign, marred by violent clashes and human rights abuses, has been widely ridiculed as "busification." Systemic violations have been exposed, including beatings and the conscription of people with disabilities, in a recent report from the Council of Europe.
Despite the challenges, Ukraine is pushing forward with harsh mobilization policies in an attempt to stem the tide of battlefield losses. The military is operating at critically low strengths, with some frontline units operating at just 30% of their intended capacity, according to a report from the Stockholm Centre for Eastern European Studies.
