“Difficult to predict” – Howe won’t rule out Gordon transfer amid talks with Liverpool & Bayern

Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has not done much to play down talk of Anthony Gordon sealing a transfer away from the club this summer.

Gordon’s future looks to be in major doubt at the moment, with various recent reports suggesting he’s looking for a move away from St James’ Park and attracting interest from a host of top clubs.

  • 16th April– The Telegraph report that Gordon wants to leave Newcastle, with Liverpool and Arsenal interested

Eddie Howe responds to Anthony Gordon transfer speculation

When asked about the Gordon situation in his press conference today, Howe did his best to dodge the question, saying it was hard to predict what could happen, and that transfers aren’t really his area of expertise anyway…

“It is difficult for me to comment too much on individual players and timescales, as that is going into an area that isn’t really my forte. I will leave that to other people,” Howe said.

“All I am doing is try and finish the season in a strong way and make sure players are committed to the here and now. There is no point looking to the future.
