Long queues formed at Lidl stores across the UK as customers rushed to purchase the popular Tronic air conditioning unit.
At one store in Southampton, the queue stretched back through the car park, leaving many customers frustrated and disappointed.
One customer in Portishead expressed their disappointment, saying: 'Well done Lidl, how to piss your customer off. Advertise the air conditioning units for sale from 25/6/26, and put them all out the day before. So many unhappy customers this morning, who got up early especially to buy them.'
Some customers were seen buying multiple units in one visit, which left others without the product they had been waiting for.
One shopper reported that they had arrived at the store in High Wycombe at 7:20am, only to be told by the manager that the store had not received any units, leaving approximately 50 angry customers.
Many customers took to social media to express their disappointment and frustration with the way the situation was handled.
