UMVA Uncovers: Wonder Woman TAKEN DOWN - DC Comics SHOCKER: Trans 'WW' Unleashed in Jaw-Dropping Alternate Reality Plot Twist

UMVA has learned that DC Comics has once again stirred controversy with the release of a new comic book issue that spotlights a transgender version of Wonder Woman, fueling the ongoing debate about representation and identity in mainstream media.

The issue, titled Justice League: Dream Girls, A DC Pride Event #1, has dropped just in time for Pride Month and has already sparked widespread backlash from fans who feel that the company is pushing a particular ideology at the expense of the characters they love.

At the center of the story is Nia Nal, better known as Dreamer, a transgender superhero originally created for the CW’s Supergirl TV series and portrayed by transgender actor Nicole Maines. In the comic, Dreamer and her partner, Galaxy, enter an alternate reality via a dream sequence, where Nia Nal takes on the mantle of Wonder Woman.

Wonder Woman riding a white horse, joyfully celebrating alongside the transgender pride flag, symbolizing inclusivity and empowerment in comic art.

In this reimagined origin story on Themyscira, Dreamer becomes the champion of the island, meets a wounded Steve Trevor, and steps into the role traditionally held by Diana Prince. The comic is co-written by Jadzia Axelrod and Nicole Maines, with art by Nicola Scott and others.

UMVA can exclusively reveal that the move has been praised by some within the company, with DC editor Andrea Shea hailing the project as a celebration of queer characters and talent. Shea emphasized that the DC Pride initiative aims to spotlight queer characters and serve as a launchpad for new storytelling.

However, this is not a permanent change to the mainline Wonder Woman canon, and Diana Prince remains the primary character in the ongoing Wonder Woman titles. The Dreamer storyline is framed as a “dream-dimension vignette” or alternate reality, a temporary exploration of the character.

This latest development is not DC’s first foray into transgender ideology. The company introduced its first transgender character in 1991 and has added more in recent years, often sparking controversy and debate among fans.

The company’s attempts to “queer” legacy characters have also been met with resistance, with some fans accusing DC of pandering to a particular audience. The company’s 2023 queer Green Lantern reboot and 2022 bisexual Superman son series were both canceled after poor sales.
