Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal is facing scrutiny after new records revealed that an illegal immigrant whose release from ICE custody he championed was registered to vote in Connecticut.
A Department of Homeland Security spokesperson stated that the illegal immigrant, Seyo Cecunjanin, had repeatedly disregarded immigration laws over the course of more than two decades.
Records obtained through a public-records request show that Cecunjanin was registered to vote through the Connecticut DMV in 2018. Despite being under a final deportation order since 1997, he was released back into the United States after returning from Serbia in 2024.
