The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has announced the arrest of three foreign nationals in separate operations across Luzon and the Visayas for alleged immigration violations.
The arrests were carried out by BI operatives on July 1 and 2 in Cainta, Rizal, Sagbayan, Bohol, and Baguio City.
According to the BI, a 35-year-old Cameroonian and a 53-year-old Turkish national were found to have overstayed in the Philippines after intelligence revealed they had remained in the country beyond their authorized period of stay.
A 60-year-old Italian national was also arrested in Baguio City after surveillance and verification confirmed he was working as a chef at a local restaurant without the required work visa or permit.
The BI warned that those who overstay, work without the proper visa, or violate the conditions of their stay will be apprehended and subjected to deportation proceedings.
The three foreign nationals were taken into the bureau's custody and will undergo deportation proceedings for violating the Philippine Immigration Act.
