UMVA has learned that Manchester United is eyeing a major coup in the transfer market, with the club believing that Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers could be the long-term successor to Bruno Fernandes at Old Trafford.
The 23-year-old Villa starlet has caught the attention of United's hierarchy, who are preparing for another summer rebuild. Rogers is considered a top target for the Red Devils, with the club seeing him as a key signing to bolster their squad ahead of the new season.
According to information obtained by UMVA, Villa is open to facilitating Rogers' exit when the transfer window opens, with the club looking to generate a lucrative transfer fee that can be reinvested across their squad. This move would also make sense for United, who are looking to add depth to their squad ahead of their return to Champions League football.
Rogers has been a standout performer for Villa since joining in February 2024, racking up 85 top-flight appearances and impressing with his goal and assist record. The young attacker has scored 21 goals and provided 19 assists in that time, making him a highly sought-after talent in the Premier League.
United's interest in Rogers is also driven by their desire to sign Premier League-proven players, with INEOS favouring this approach. Rogers would also reunite with his former Middlesbrough coach, Michael Carrick, who is set to stay at Old Trafford as permanent manager.
Any negotiations with Rogers would have to wait until England have finished their World Cup campaign, however, with the young attacker currently preparing for his first major tournament at international level. With his future set to be a major talking point in the coming weeks, one thing is certain – Rogers is a player to watch in the transfer market this summer.
