IRANIAN MEMORIAL TORCHED: They're Erasing Their Names!

A quiet London neighborhood is reeling after a suspected arson attack targeted a poignant memorial wall. The wall, dedicated to Iranians killed during January’s protests, became the focus of a police investigation in the early hours of Monday morning.

Counter-terror police are currently examining the incident in Golders Green, north London, where someone attempted to set the memorial ablaze. Thankfully, the wall itself sustained no damage, and authorities are not classifying the event as a terrorist act at this time.

The memorial stands as a solemn tribute to the thousands of protestors who lost their lives during widespread anti-regime demonstrations in Iran. It represents a desperate cry for freedom and a stark reminder of the sacrifices made.

Investigation launched after arson at Golders Green memorial wallPolice are investigating after a suspected arson attack at a memorial wall on Limes Avenue, Golders Green, at 00.15hrs on Monday, 27 April.Officers received a report of a fire at 19.28hrs on the same day and the investigation is now being led by Counter Terror Policing. The memorial wall itself was not damaged.

Those connected to the community expressed deep concern and outrage. A spokesperson from the Persian Advice Bureau emphasized the urgency of the situation, stating that Iranians are facing increasing threats and this attack is a profound disrespect to the victims.

The spokesperson specifically referenced the tragic loss of life on January 8th and 9th, claiming 40,000 people were massacred by the Iranian regime. They argued the attack diminishes the value of those lives given in pursuit of freedom.

Local law enforcement is acutely aware of the anxiety this incident has caused, particularly given a recent series of attacks in the Golders Green area. Detective Chief Superintendent Luke Williams stressed the commitment to community safety and ongoing protective security measures.

Police are collaborating closely with community organizations and leaders to provide reassurance. Increased patrols, including armed officers and specialized teams from Project Servator, are being deployed to deter potential criminal activity and maintain vigilance.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working diligently to uncover the motives behind the attack and bring those responsible to justice. The incident serves as a somber reminder of the ongoing struggles for freedom and the importance of protecting vulnerable communities.
