BRAMPTON ATTACK & GREEKTOWN HEIST: Suspect CAPTURED!

A tense morning unfolded in Brampton as a teenage boy was rushed to hospital following a stabbing near a school. The incident occurred just after 8:20 a.m. on McMurchy Avenue South, sending ripples of concern through the community.

Police swiftly responded, initiating lockdowns at Brampton Centennial Secondary School and a hold and secure at Bishop Francis Allen Catholic Elementary School as they searched for the suspect. A significant police presence descended upon the area, prioritizing the safety of students and staff.

Within thirty minutes, authorities apprehended a male suspect, lifting the security measures at both schools. The investigation remains active as detectives piece together the details of this isolated, yet alarming, event.

Meanwhile, in Toronto’s Greektown, police are seeking public assistance in identifying a man responsible for a pair of brazen break-ins. The incidents occurred on April 15th and 18th, targeting businesses in the Danforth and Logan Avenues area.

The suspect allegedly forced entry into an establishment on April 15th, attempting to steal property after damaging the front door. Just days later, a convenience store in the same neighborhood was ransacked, with the suspect again using force to gain access.

Peter Maroulis, a 55-year-old Toronto resident, is now wanted on charges of break and enter, as well as breach of probation. He is described as having a stocky build and was last seen wearing a baseball hat and dark clothing.

Further east, in Riverdale, police are investigating a series of unsettling nighttime prowlings. Security footage captured a suspect lurking on private property near Broadview and Hogarth Avenues on April 16th.

The individual, believed to be around 30 years old with long black hair and a distinctive chinstrap beard, was observed peering into windows of a residence. He was also carrying a backpack and wearing a light-colored jacket and pants.

North of the city, in Vaughan, a home was targeted in a shooting early Friday morning. Police responded to reports of gunfire in the Rutherford and Weston Roads area around 3:40 a.m., confirming that a residence had been struck.

The suspects fled the scene before officers arrived, and thankfully, no injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing, with police working to determine the motive and identify those responsible for this disturbing act.

These incidents underscore a period of heightened concern across the Greater Toronto Area, as authorities work diligently to maintain public safety and bring those responsible to justice.
