Reality Star Stephen Bear Convicted of New Charges as Former Partner Speaks Out

Stephen Bear has admitted to breaking a restraining order taken out by his ex-girlfriend, Love Island star Georgia Harrison. He is due to be sentenced at Chelmsford Crown Court next month after pleading guilty to the offence.

The disgraced reality TV personality breached the restraining order by posting about Harrison and his criminal trial on social media, including photographs of her alongside defamatory statements.

Bear was jailed in 2023 for voyeurism and disclosing private sexual photographs and films without consent. He was released from HMP Brixton in January 2024 after serving just over 10 months.

Following his release, Bear repeatedly posted about Harrison and his criminal trial on social media, insisting the case against him had been 'fixed'.

Speaking out, Harrison explained why she chose not to attend the recent court hearing. 'I didn't go to court this week because being there would give him the one thing he has always wanted, and the one thing the manosphere machine runs on: attention,' she said.

'He shared intimate footage of me without my consent, and when the law caught up with him, he came back for more – because the attention was worth more to him than the consequences. That's not just a man with a problem. That's a man doing exactly what the system rewards.'

Harrison has become a leading campaigner against online abuse and has recently launched The Georgia Harrison Foundation to make the internet safer, support victims of online abuse, and challenge the harmful online cultures that enable it.

Detective Constable Swarv Stafin condemned Bear's actions, stating that his behaviour is 'not okay and it should not be normalised or accepted.'

'The impacts of being harassed are very real. It causes a great deal of stress and anxiety – it is something no-one should have to experience,' he said.

Harrison has spoken out about the impact the offence had on her, describing it as 'the worst feeling you can ever possibly imagine.' She has since waived her right to anonymity during Bear's original criminal trial as she campaigned for stronger protections for victims of image-based sexual abuse.

Since the incident, Harrison has become a prominent advocate for online safety and has received an MBE for services to the prevention of violence against women and girls.
