Mateus Fernandes has agreed to join Tottenham Hotspur for the upcoming season, marking a significant addition to the club’s midfield roster.
The move follows a failed bid from Manchester United, which did not match Tottenham’s offer, allowing the Portuguese midfielder to secure a place in the Premier League side.
Spurs, under new manager Roberto De Zerbi, are undergoing a substantial squad overhaul. Fernandes becomes the fourth player signed during the summer transfer window, joining the ranks of Andy Robertson, Marco Senesi, and Jan Paul van Hecke.
Fernandes arrived at West Ham United from Southampton last summer, bringing experience from the Championship and Premier League to his new club.
