Metro Pacific Health reaches 31 hospitals after strategic Batangas deal

Metro Pacific Health (MPH) has finalized its investment in First United 23, Inc., the operator of two hospitals in Batangas, bringing its nationwide network to 31 facilities.

The transaction marks MPH’s 19th and 20th provincial hospital partnerships and its first entry into Batangas, completing coverage across the Calabarzon region.

MPH President Augusto “Augie” Palisoc expressed gratitude to hospital owners and physicians for their confidence, noting that the partnership will enable further development of community health services.

First United 23 manages United Doctors of St. Camillus de Lellis Hospital and Medical Center in Batangas City and United Doctors of St. Camillus de Lellis Mabini General Hospital, the sole private hospital in Mabini municipality.

The Batangas City facility is located on Diversion Road in Bolbok, while the Mabini hospital serves residents and tourists visiting nearby destinations such as Anilao.

Founding member and former president Ferdinand Moraleja indicated that the collaboration aims to sustain growth of both institutions.

MPH plans to integrate the two hospitals into its existing network, applying operational and clinical enhancements drawn from its other facilities.

Following the investment, MPH’s portfolio includes 11 hospitals in the National Capital Region, 12 in Luzon, two in the Visayas, and six in Mindanao, featuring notable centers such as Makati Medical Center, Asian Hospital and Medical Center, Cardinal Santos Medical Center, Davao Doctors Hospital, and Riverside Medical Center in Bacolod.

Collectively, the 31 hospitals provide approximately 4,800 beds, staffed by around 12,500 physicians and 24,000 healthcare workers, and serve an estimated 5.2 million patients each year.

Metro Pacific Investments Corp., the parent of MPH, is one of three principal Philippine units of Hong Kong‑based First Pacific Co. Ltd.
